Edgewood Elementary School

Educating and Empowering All Students to Maximize Their Unique Potential

Library

Welcome to the Library!

Our librarian, Fran Woodruff, and our library aide, Alice Morgan, are here to support our Edgewood teachers and students in finding the resources needed to answer questions, spark curiosity, and provide a wealth of literary entertainment.

  • Students may visit the library any time during the school day.
  • In addition, each class has a scheduled time to visit each week.
  • Kindergarteners checkout one book at a time, while grades 1-5 may have two books at a time.
  • Books checkout for one week and can be renewed as often as needed.
  • Our library boasts a collection of approximately 11,000 physical books, along with an additional 5,000 ebooks/audiobooks available through Sora, our digital library collection.

If you have any questions—from recommendations for your next great read to assistance with a lost or missing library book—we’re here to help!

Digital Library Notice

Please be mindful that every student can browse all books in the Homewood City School’s Digital Library Collection. In addition, you have the option of linking your Sora account to the public library’s digital collection ((Jefferson County Library Cooperative) by following these directions

To serve the diverse population of HCS, our digital library reflects a variety of topics and preferences. For this reason, we highly encourage parental supervision while students browse, search, and select digital books. Furthermore, we encourage students to exercise their best digital citizenship skills.
